A Service Dog is defined as any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. Service dogs perform specific tasks or behaviors to help people with visible and non-visible disabilities such as epilepsy, post-traumatic stress disorder or anxiety, diabetes or mobility limitations.
Service dog tasks are trained behaviors by the handler to help assist in their everyday life. These tasks can help by alerting to a door bell or fire alarm, retrieving medication or water, opening or closing a kitchen door or drawer or anxiety aler
Emotional support dogs oe ESD's for short are companion animals that provide emotional and psychological comfort and support to individuals with mental health conditions.
Unlike service animals, ESD's don't need specific task training. They offer companionship, reduce stress, and can help alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges.
With emotional support dogs, we can teach and train your dog to help in any way possible!
Task training can help individuals live more independently, reducing the need for others.
